The Kenyan's Queen

Michele Obongo is not an elected official, nor does she represent anyone other than herself - but Lordy Lordy does she require a lot of maintenance. She costs the American taxpayers nearly $2 million a year just to pay for her personal staff. This is outrageous. Unemployment is around 10% and she needs two dozen people to answer her phones, write her letters, wash her hair and shave her back.

From the Canadian Free Press:

Michelle Obama, as we reported on July 7, is not served by twenty-two attendants who stand by to cater to her every whim. She is served by twenty-six attendants, including a hair dresser and make-up artist.

The annual cost to taxpayers for such unprecedented attention is approximately $1,750,000 without taking into account the expense of the lavish benefit packages afforded to every attendant.

Little did American voters realize the call for “change” would result in the establishment of an Obama oligarchy.

The discovery of the additional attendants was made by D’Angelo Gore of factcheck.org and by calls to Katie McCormick Lelyyeld, Michelle Obama’s press secretary.

Mr. Gore launched his investigation of the First Lady’s staff in the wake of an article that appeared on thelastcrusade.org and Canada Free Press on July 7.
The article, which became a chain letter viewed by millions of Americans, reported that Michelle Obama requires more than twenty attendants - - more than any First Lady in U.S. History. It provided the following list of White House staff members assigned to the First Lady:

$172,2000 - Sher, Susan (Chief Of Staff)
$140,000 - Frye, Jocelyn C. (Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Policy And Projects For The First Lady)
$113,000 - Rogers, Desiree G. (Special Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary)
$102,000 - Johnston, Camille Y. (Special Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the First Lady)
$102,000 - Winter, Melissa E. (Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief Of Staff to the First Lady)
$90,000 - Medina, David S. (Deputy Chief Of Staff to the First Lady)
$84,000 - Lelyveld, Catherine M. (Director and Press Secretary to the First Lady)
$75,000 - Starkey, Frances M. (Director of Scheduling and Advance for the First Lady)
$70,000 - Sanders, Trooper (Deputy Director of Policy and Projects for the First Lady)
$65,000 - Burnough, Erinn J. (Deputy Director and Deputy Social Secretary)
$65,000 - Reinstein, Joseph B. (Deputy Director and Deputy Social Secretary)
$62,000 - Goodman, Jennifer R. (Deputy Director of Scheduling and Events Coordinator For The First Lady)
$60,000 - Fitts, Alan O. (Deputy Director of Advance and Trip Director for the First Lady)
$60,000 - Lewis, Dana M. (Special Assistant and Personal Aide to the First Lady)
$52,500 - Mustaphi, Semonti M. (Associate Director and Deputy Press Secretary To The First Lady)
$50,000 - Jarvis, Kristen E. (Special Assistant for Scheduling and Traveling Aide To The First Lady)
$45,000 - Lechtenberg, Tyler A. (Associate Director of Correspondence For The First Lady)
$45,000 - Tubman, Samantha (Deputy Associate Director, Social Office)
$40,000 - Boswell, Joseph J. (Executive Assistant to the Chief Of Staff to the First Lady)
$36,000 - Armbruster, Sally M. (Staff Assistant to the Social Secretary)
$36,000 - Bookey, Natalie (Staff Assistant)
$36,000 - Jackson, Deilia A. (Deputy Associate Director of Correspondence for the First Lady)

Perhaps this is part of Obongo's stimulus package. Half the country will end up working for the Wookie.

H/T to Charlie the ChiTown Cop.

My G-d!! Did they haul half of Chicago out with them and give them cushy jobs?

I'd really like to know two things...1) what are these people being paid (I'd settle for average salary) and 2) Why does it take 26 people to organize her life?

It must be awe inspiring when Michelle shows up with her posse.

I'm sure these positions go under "Jobs created or saved".

All that money and she still looks like that?!

Only 22 of the 26 salaried positions are listed by this article, but the average salary is $72,500 year for Wookie maintenance and control.

For all that money you'd think her coat would be more glossy and her asss wouldn't stink.

After reading of how B.O. had pizzas brought in from Chicago for a White House function, I find it more and more difficult to be surprised at these fools.

Marie Antoinnette(sp?) said, "Let them eat cake." and that cost her her head. What will we wind up doing to B.O. and his bride?

("The Bride of Obama", now THERES a scary title for a movie!)

I read your thread yesterday and found myself thinking today about it. It seems to me that unless the money spend on her staff is legally mandated by Congress, any monies used are illegally spend, which in my opinion is theft. Misfeasance also comes to mind as does miappropriation of funds(fraud/theft). I wish I had the wherewithal to sue these people in federal court for their theft of government (strike that, "our") monies.

Amen Sarge. But these expenses are authpriazed by COngress. See here for an overview (http://books.google.com/books?id=4Bn1O7rKTugC&pg=PA15&lpg=PA15&dq=Laura+Bush+white+house+staff+cost&source=bl&ots=H0sb0MFlwU&sig=K4kUa_EabmxlzO-Rn24Bc3W8FdY&hl=en&ei=CwzmSpu2HsuWlAe3m5zoCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CBYQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=&f=false). If the Obongo's go over budget staff appropriations, I am sure that funds will be reallocated from another source, such as Veteran's benefits, to pay for it.
