Irena Sendler

Cookie threw this up at his place and I wholeheartedly agree that this amazing woman was a much more worthy recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize than the disgusting choices the selection committee has made in the past few years.

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewerspecialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack (for larger kids). She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms, tortured and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.

Al Gore won, for his inaccurate slide show on Global Warming and this year the Nobel Peace Prize went to Barack Hussein Obama who, as we all know, has accomplished little or NOTHING.

Let us never forget!

63 years later, In MEMORIAM - Irena Sendler 2/15/1910- 5/12/2009

Go to Snopes and read the LA Times obit for this amazing woman. It gives more information on her amazing life, the perils she faced from the Nazis and God's miraculous provision for her safety.

The Most High God did not provide for her comfort - He protected her and assured her safety.

America would be well served to understand the difference.

Thanks for re-posting this Sig. Yes, she was definately an amazing woman and a person MUCH more deserving of the Nobel Peace prize than the two idiots who received it instead, **sigh**.

I had heard of her before, but did not know she'd been up for the Prize against algore.
Those in the Nobel committee should feel ashamed, truly ashamed. It has been ludicrous until now. Now it is just disgusting.

They made a movie out of Schindler's efforts to save Jews from Hitler's murderous underlings. They should make a miniseries of this woman's life.
