Beck On McCain

Glenn Beck's take on the debate last night. It ain't pretty.

I promised myself that I wouldn't watch this dabate and held out until my wife turned it on. I wanted to vomit. McCain seems to be trying to lose this election. And what's with this $300 billion dollar bailout on top of the $840 billion that was passed last week? Is McCain nuts? WTH?!?!?

And would someone on the McCain committee just come out and say that Obama's only experience as a national legislator is to run for President? That he did jack as an Illinois state rep and that his only experience in administration was to blow $150 million in an utterly failed project to improve public schools in Chicago! The man has done nothing and says everything.

Still Not Sure About McCain

The more I read about Sarah Palin, the more I like her. I wish I could say the same about the top of the Republican ticket.

The first thing that bothers me is the cavelier way he dumped his first wife after 20 years of marriage and a month later marries a woman 17 years his junior after carrying on an adulterous affair with her.

I can understand and perhaps even sympathize to some degree with youthful transgressions, but McCain wasn't a hot blooded young buck; he was in his early forties when this happened.

His reputation as a maverick (Dictionary.com -a lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates) may not be exactly what we can expect from him. There is perhaps another explanation for his behavior over the years ... he may just do whatever the hell he pleases. This can be paraphrased as "doing what is right in his own eyes".

An expression almost exactly the dam as this can be found in Judges 17:6 - "In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

When there is no authority or when you have no respect for authority, you do whatever you feel is right. While this may explain some of his actions, I am positive that McCain is not an amoral sociopath. But it appears that his foul mouthed temper is legendary.

I certainly can (and will) applaud McCain's efforts during his imprisonment and savage treatment at the hands of the communists. I doubt that I could have survived the ordeal with as much grace and toughness as he did.

Obscuring McCain's character analysis allegations that John McCain:
1) collaborated with the enemy;
2) hampered efforts to identify Viet Nam prisoners of war who were not freed by North Viet Nam under Operation Homecoming;
3) he is a serial philanderer.

The first item is answered to my satisfaction at this site. It is a "truther" type bogus accusation - why would the commies maim a man who is cooperating with them?

The second and third allegations I cannot say one way or the other, but I find it hard to believe that as a former POW, McCain would do anything of the sort.

Former Congressman Hendon and John LeBoutillier do not find it hard to believe as they co-authored a book about the POW betrayal in 2007. The philandering allegations will work themselves one way or another out prior to the election.

It took me a while to finish this as I got sidetracked by fart videos on YouTube. Have no idea how I ended up there. Anyway, in the final analysis, there really is no other alternative to McCain. I just want to know where all the warts are on my bride before I climb in the sack with her.

Do You Smell that?

The Aerie has a great post "Why John McCain Is An Ignoramus" and I am tempted to steal the entire thing. But here's a sampler.

John McCain is out courting the left by claiming that our solution to global warming is "Cap and Trade". This is folly. There are only 3 things you need to know about the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) hoax:

1. C02 (which plants love BTW) increases in the atmosphere FOLLOW global warming, not the other way around. If you look closely at the graph in "An Inconvenient Truth" you can see this. However, in this particular section of the film, Al Gore glosses over this fact and claims the opposite. The man is a greedy liar and should be kicked off the board of Apple.

2. If it were possible for man to warm the planet, IT WOULD BE A GOOD THING. When the planet was warmer in the past than it is now, civilization thrived. Cooling is MUCH more dangerous than warming and, ironically, global cooling will require much more energy to be expended to keep us and our crops warm.

3. We are officially now in our tenth year of global cooling and many scientists without an AGW grant are confirming that this is just the beginning. Expect MUCH cooler years ahead.

Drop on over to the Aerie to finish the read. I really liked Dan's closing paragraph:

But the reason that oil is eeevil is that it allows people to drive and we can't have that, nosiree. If people can drive where they want to then how can the we possibly control their lives? After all, the proletariate need to live in tall government provided housing near the center of crime ridden cities and ideally, should move from place to place using a urine encrusted public transportation system of some kind.

Urine encrusted transportation is endorsed by PETA. No animals are harmed in the production of urine.

"You smell that? Do you smell that? Urine, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of urine in the morning. It smells like ...... piss"
