From The Mouths Of Babes

No doubt near death experiences are interesting phenomena. I don't know how much credence to grant them. You decide for yourself.

Hey Sig,,,I have heard of this boy recently and I am of the sort to believe him.

Maybe being Christian I just 'want' to believe him but how can a "dream state" pick up on things previously unknown, let alone to a youngster with no real world experience?

No matter what folks think it shows there are many things humans do not know, understand or can even comprehend and finally that there is 'something' larger out there that all should be conscious of.

I fully believe in Jesus Christ and salvation through Him. This young man's story neither supports nor lessens my faith.

My faith is not based on a Channel 3 vignette.

Chris - I have heard this and other similar stories, even one or two from friends/family. I neither believe nor disbelieve them. What people experience in extremis is very personal. Maybe it will guide this child and his family in seeking God's grace. Time will tell.

Nickie - exactly. It is an unusual story but it is hard to tell if the child's experience at 3 has been manipulated or embellished or not. It almost begs the question; "Should someone relate this kind of story if it happens to them? "

Indeed, the Holy Spirit has provided us with all we need to obtain eternal life. Paul stated in Then the question is; "Does this story draw unbelievers to investigate Christ?"

When I read things like this story, I am drawn to Philippians 1:8

"But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, ..."

Given the subject matter, I relay the following:

- I've been near death a couple times when I was younger - 18, then 20s. My life truly did flash before my eyes in a matter of a few seconds.

- When my sister died, one of her daughters had 2 sons, one of them was 3 years old at the time. My sister loved these grandkids, especially the 3 yr old. After the burial, and at the cemetery, they were leaving and the 3 year old looked up at the sky and said as plain as day "Ok, goodbye, I love you too".

True.

Kid - those storeies are something that I never argue with. Something happened at my MIL's funeral that I still don't believe today.

Hey Sig, are you OK mate? Haven't seen any new posts as of late.

BTW, I do believe in these experiences and have over the years read three books regarding this topic. I have a close personal friend who swears by his experience.
