Happy 4th of July

This just blew me away. A former Marine stuns a tea party rally in Douglas County, Georgia.
A conservative talk radio host, Herman Cain, is answering quesions from the crowd when the following patriotic, God-fearing vet speaks his mind.

God bless our armed forces- the men and women who serve our great Nation.

I believe we are in serious peril; deep, deep trouble as our heritage, our traditions and our liberties face extinction from a godless, liberal onslaught. Concerned Americans feel threatened and isolated during these times. We can say "In God we trust" until the cows come home but what does it accomplish if there are no actions behind our words? When it is perceived that we are in full retreat we must first stop running. In the Old Testament the way to begin the process of regeneration is thus:
Isaiah 11:12
And He will lift up a standard for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the earth.

That is what that that gentlemen did in Douglas County; he raised a standard, a banner for patriots to rally under. Love of country is what binds us as a nation. Without that, we are merely another loose-knit social group that will be overwhelmed and engulfed by those who do share a vigorous national identity.

Know what you stand for. There are many diverse opinions that divide us; cling to the ones that unite us. Get involved! Vote! Volunteer to become precinct captains!

And pray for our Nation. In order for God to bless America, America must return to Him as the originator of our freedoms.

Useless By Any Definition

Riddle me this:
Why aren't these black balaclava-clad assholes lying in a hospital bed somewhere in Toronto with a police baton embedded sideways up their colon?
Every time I see criminals who call themselves demonstrators racing through the streets of a beautiful city raising all kinds of hell I wonder, as did the inestimable Mr. Steyn: "What the HELL are the cops doing? Where are they? Why aren't they breaking heads, taking names and kicking some serious ass? What the hell are they getting paid for if not to protect the property of the people who are paying their salaries that pays their mortgages, buys their groceries and sends their kids to college?"

OK, the Toronto cops arrested 400 rioters ... out of an estimated 10,000.

Police used shields, clubs, tear gas and pepper spray to push back the rogue protesters who tried to head south toward the security fence surrounding the Group of 20 summit site.

Push them back? There should be 5,000 rioters staggering around Ontario Province right now looking for a doctor to stitch up gaping head wounds and set their broken bones. Working midnights we always had a flashlight in hand, a big one made from aircraft aluminum called a Kel Light. I once used a five or six D-cell Kel Light to take down doors.

Injuries such as those aforementioned were described as "Kel-Lightis" or "Kel-Lightatosis." The scars these instruments left were rather unique. It was very much like tagging migratory animals on the forehead.

Look at this; I see maybe one cop carrying a baton (not even a riot stick, looks like an ASP baton at the extreme right in the background) and one cop carrying a tear gas grenade launcher with extra grenades slung across his chest. What are the rest of the guys carrying? Nothing.

Not a single shotgun in the politically correct bunch. Here's a piece of advice: load up a bunch of scatterguns with number six shot and let those "demonstrators" have it in their legs or aim at the asphalt a few yards in front of them and let the lead and bits of blacktop ricochet into their calves and thighs. No pushing required, let the lead do the work like God intended.

I guess I'm more pissed off at their commanders and the politicians who obviously gave the orders to allow these rampaging fools to torch the City of Toronto. Maybe they feel that since the insurance companies and taxpayers will cover the costs of all the damage and mayhem there's no need to get nasty ... and act like cops. What a crock.

He's Home

My grandson went home this morning. His blood oxygen levels have been stable since late last week and the NICU doctors let him go this morning. Praise God and thank all of you for your prayers!

Drilling In One Mile Of Water

Back in the day I used to scuba dive. To get my certification I had to take classroom sessions regarding the science of diving. My instructor pounded many things into our heads, one of which is the importance of pressure because water pressure can kill you slow or in no time flat. Take your pick - it just depends on how stupid you want to be.

When you are at sea level, there is a whole lot of air over your head; about 62 miles of it (100 kilometers). At this height the air is so thin that it is considered a vacuum. I use sea level because the higher the elevation, the less amount of air there is above your head. Where I live we are 390 feet above sea level. That means that I have about .0175 pounds less pressure on my head than if I would if I were vacationing at a beach in Miami.

The air we breathe weighs something because even gases are made from atoms that weigh something. Air is comprised of nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%) with traces of argon (1%) and carbon dioxide (0.03%) - and of course water vapor.

What does it weigh? Those 62 miles of gas above your head weighs 14.7 pounds per square inch (about 1000 millibars, a millibar is 100 Newtons per square meter). So, if the top of your head has ten square inches supporting a 62 mile high column of air above you while standing, your neck is supporting 147 pounds of pressure that is trying to drive your hairy coconut into your chest. Plus that coconut above your shoulders weighs about 12 pounds; so make it roughly 160 pounds of pressure your neck, spinal column, legs and feet are withstanding just due to air pressure and the bony/brainy structure that your ears hang from.

That 14.7 pounds of pressure is known as an atmosphere - one atmosphere to be exact. And the pressure exerted by 62 miles of air is equal to 33 feet of water. Lets extrapolate.

BP originally applied to drill in 500 feet of water off the Louisiana coast. The State of Louisiana approved this permit but it was then denied by the feds who told BP to move it out into deeper water - 4,800 feet deeper. What's the pressure differential?

The original permit had the well head at a depth of 500 feet - which is 15 atmospheres. The new federal requirement put the well head at 5,280 feet, over ten times deeper and under a pressure of 160 atmospheres. The pressure differential is this - at 15 atmospheres a diver or any equipment would have to operate in an environment of 223 pounds psi. At 160 atmospheres it changes to 2,352 psi. No way a diver can live under this kind of pressure without a strong steel exoskeleton framework to resist the pressure. There are only eight people who ever dove below 800 feet - and lived. Our most modern submarines cannot operate safely at less than half the depth of the Deepwater Horizon well head. The crush depth of the SSN Seawolf is estimated at 2,400 feet.

This means that everything must be handled via remote controlled machinery - robots, diving platforms, the Nautilus and Capt. Nemo - whatever. We can watch the sucker spew out thousands of barrels of crude every hour but we can't physically lay a hand on it.

Trying to snuff a leak at 52 hundred feet is a lot different than maneuvering a Mars robot around a rock 86 million miles away. The pressure behind the Gulf blow out must be truly horrendous.

And the government forced BP to drill at this depth.

Update On The Young 'Un

Well, apparently the pneumothorax has cleared up but there is something new.

He has neonatal pulmonary hypertension that was revealed by a sonogram. Now this is a normal condition while he was in the womb; the gas exchange occurs in the placenta, not in the lungs. But once he starts breathing on his own, not good.

The doctors state it is not a real serious condition (it could be worse - requiring surgery) but we are still waiting to see when he can come home.

He has the most amazing head of hair I've ever seen on a new born.

A Prayer: Lord God, Keep The Israelis In Israel

My daughter is just about through with her training as an Army translator for Standard Arabic. She spent almost a year at American University in Cairo and traveled to other countries while there. Her younger sister joined her twice, once for a week in Egypt (interrupted by a severe case of food poisoning - there are a paucity of health regulatory agencies in Egypt) and then six months later another week in Israel.

They both can't wait to get back to visit Israel and want my wife and I to go with them. Neither wants to step foot in Egypt ever again. My younger daughter actually cried upon landing in Boston after flying home from Egypt - she was so glad to be back in the US.

As my Army daughter says, the Egyptians have had Egypt for over three thousand five hundred years and it is a smelly shithole. The Israelis have had Israel for sixty years and it is a garden.

Helen Thomas obviously wants Palestine to remain a rat infested shithole because wherever the Jews land, things flourish. Wherever Palestinians go, a shithole emerges surrounded by eruptions of death and violence.

For a more graphic comparison, look at the Google image below of southern Israel and the Gaza Strip. Guess which side is Gaza.

The blue area is obviously the Mediterrean Sea. The green rectangles and circles are in Israel. You see the same land formations while flying over America's Mid West. These are farms.

The sandy gray rubble is Gaza. The US pours almost a half billion dollars a year into Gaza and the West Bank. Other nations pour additional hundreds of millions of dollars.

From The Congressional Research Service:

Since the signing of the Oslo Accord in 1993 and the establishment of limited Palestinian self rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1994, the U.S. government has committed over $3.5 billion in bilateral assistance to the Palestinians. Since the death of Yasser Arafat in November 2004, U.S. assistance to the Palestinians has been averaging about $400 million a year.

During the 1990s, U.S. foreign aid to the Palestinians averaged approximately $75 million per year. Despite more robust levels of assistance this decade, Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Hamas’s heightened role in Palestinian politics have made it more difficult to implement effective and lasting aid projects that serve U.S. interests.

Palestinian leaders basically steal this money and use it to stay in power. Arafat had over a hundred million dollars in his private bank accounts - that is the reason for all the confusion surrounding his death: his wife and other arab ghouls were fighting over the cash.

And you wonder how they afford all those thousands of rockets they fire at the Israelis?

I guess Helen Thomas hates green.

Not Yet

We thought he was coming home today. Nope. The pneumothorax still has not healed completely and he is back on 100% oxygen.

Briefly:
  • 2% of new borns will have it.
  • Boys are more likely to have this than girls (by a ratio of 2:1)
He's been in NICU for a week now. For the past few days our daughter has been staying at the hospital nursing him. The NICU has a crisis room that they let her sleep in. She'll be coming home today for a spell ... she sounds exhausted.

Back To Square One

My grandson is still in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The MD's thought that his lung had sealed but it didn't; or there is another new pneumothorax. So he is back under the oxygen tent and his respiration rate is elevated. The NICU gets a case of this every week so the staff is not particularly concerned about this. But we are.

In addition, he has a moderate case of hyperbilirubinemia. This is also fairly common amoung new borns.

But according to the nurses he seems exceptionally physically strong for a newborn. When I saw him he has very broad shoulders and a deep chest - looked more like a two month old. My wife accompanied our daughter to the NICU this evening while I stayed home with Dad and the other grandkids and fixed their computer - it had a few nasty bugs. My daughter is getting worried and wants her baby home.

Plus the OB-GYN said something really stupid to her which set both my wife and the attending nurse practioner's teeth on edge. I think I would have slapped her. She insinuated that my daughter is at fault for this since she didn't have a C-Section. Of course the doctors get more money for that. I'm pissed.

One More

Just got home from the hospital..
My newest grandson was born at 1515 hr this afternoon.
Big boy - 9 lb 9 oz. - his momma is kinda sore.
The grand kids are staying with us tonight; my SIL will pick them up after church tomorrow.
May God be praised. Everyone is OK. The little guy is in neonatal ICU due to a pneumothorax but he should be home in two or three days.

UPDATE:
Thanks all. Just found out that the little guy will be in the hospital maybe a day or so longer then anticipated. They may have to reinflate the lung if it does not seal itself. They use a narrow guage needle to let the air escape from between his lung and the chest cavity. Or something to that effect. My daughter should be home tomorrow.

As it was explained to me, he tried to take a real big breath after birth and something popped - his lung deflated. So he is still using only one lung but everything else is fine. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.

A Modest Proposal

I am sooo sick of the media giving face time to droolers like Jimmy Carter (President of the Yasir Arafat Fan Club) , Helen "Send the Jews Back to Germany" Thomas and now Fidel Castro with his American A-Team wet dreams in South Korea.

Terry Schaivo's case was a crime, a travesty.
Let's give euthanasia a chance where it will really do some good.
Time to pull the plug on these jackasses and idiots.

Dress Rehearsal?

Scriptures are replete with dire warnings of the Last Days when a world united under the Anti-Christ will attack Israel and current events always follow in the footprints of Scriptural prophesy.

It does not surprise me that immediately after Israel uses necessary and sufficient physical force to protect its borders from terrorists we see carefully orchestrated choruses of international outrage bellowing for Israel's head on a platter.
As we approach the End Days we will see more and more of this for Israel is the canary in the mineshaft vis a' vis the end of God's patience with Man. It will culminate at Megiddo - Armageddon.
In a Jerusalem Post article we read that the Turkish navy may be preparing to accompany new elements of the terrorist flotilla approaching Gaza. It is not likely that this will be a flash point for a war, but it is a harbinger of worse things to come. Israel's enemies are emboldened by the weakness of the West and the duplicity of Obama and his leftist cronies. But this is in God's will, and we should not be dismayed.

Why A Memorial Day?

Why do we bother with memorials and remembrances? Why should we care whether or not events peculiar to our culture are observed for all time by future generations?

Unfortunately things have progressed to the point in America where perhaps we need to have discussion like this. Memorials have been observed for thousands of years. The earliest indications of human existence are recorded in some part due to man's need to remember (also to serve some rather colossal egos!), to hold near and dear the memory of important lives and events in order for the culture to survive; not merely to survive - but to remain intact. We can survive, but will we recognize the end result in a few generations?

Will the image displayed above pertaining to the war my father and his brothers fought have the same emotional impact on my great grandchildren as it does for me? That is one of the cultural issues that memorials are created for.

One of the earliest surviving memorials is the Passover, as detailed in the Book of Exodus. The observation of Passover celebrates the deliverance of Israel from the tyranny of an Egyptian Pharaoh approximately thirty-five hundred years ago. The Hebrew Feasts and holidays, in effect their memorials, are what kept the identity of the Jews alive despite two thousand years of persecution, murder and dispersion.

Our Memorial Day started as Decoration Day on May 30, 1868, to honor the dead from the Civil War. There have been many wars since. In all, since 1775 over 1,316,000 men and women have sacrificed their lives for our country.

It is said that men do not necessarily die in combat for their Cause or their Country; they die for their friends. Jesus said in John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for His friends".
If we are to be true to the precepts that founded this Nation, then we must also accept the sacrifice that our friends made for us. That is why there is a Memorial Day - a Day of Remembrance for our friends: past, present and future. We will never forget the blood sacrifice that Christ made for our sins and we must never forget the blood sacrifice that our vets made for our freedom. To forget these sacrifices is to deny what we are.
And then what will we be?

Did You Plug The Hole Yet Daddy?

"Did You Plug The Hole Yet Daddy?" is what one of Obongo's daughters allegedly said to the Liar-in-Chief regarding the BP drilling platform that exploded a month ago.

But Obongo's hole plugging is also a question that some reporters may be getting interested in since other aspects of Obongo's private life are starting to percolate up from the depths just like oil from the ruined BP drilling platform. At iOwnTheWorld.com there is reference to a story regarding a Chicago bunghole retreat that has served ChiTown's gay population for decades. This establishment allegedly served the needs of Obongo until 2002 and Eric Rahm until as recently as 2008. The assault on Kal Penn and the theft of his cell phone may also have implications for this administration.

There is more about this story at HillBuzz. Things may get very interesting for Obongo . Look for a major event to divert attention away from this. Perhaps a war with the NorKs...

I put absolutely nothing past this POS in the WH.

Prettiness, Personality and Politics

Al Qaeda Performance Art

The canvas is blank, so to speak. Pristine, pure ... virginal. It awaits the master's touch.
The artist approaches, pallette in hand. He wants to create something of great beauty, something that others will appreciate, applaud; a work for which he will be known and revered forever.

What can you do when your canvas is a shithole in the middle of a cesspool known as Yemen and your pallette consists of C4 and detcord?

You can smear yourself all over creation as did Nayif Al-Qahtani.

Obamateur

Obongo and the First Wookie conduct a series of Humiliation tours, bowing and scraping to assorted murderous heathens and then traveling to our oldest, most loyal ally to honor the Queen of England by grabbing her ass or some other such nonsense in blatant violation of protocol while waving gift DVD's around like incense at a High Catholic Mass.

But for the beaners, our most corrupt neighbor/nation and the architect of many of our border woes? - Oburrito and the First Titless Taco pull out all the stops.

Obamateur, def:

A scheming, lying politician who through his vast experience with corrupt strongarm practices reveals himself to be completely inexperienced or unskilled in statesmanship and good decision-making.

Could It Happen?

I got to admit, I have been thinking along these lines ever since Obongo started tearing at the Constitution like a raccoon trying to get claw his way into your garbage can.

Who knows, it's possible...

From iOwnTheWorld:

Full Text Of Newsmax Column Suggesting Military Coup Against Obama

Here is the full text of John L. Perry’s column on Newsmax which suggests that a military coup to “resolve the Obama problem” is becoming more possible and is not “unrealistic.” Perry also writes that a coup, while not “ideal,” may be preferable to “Obama’s radical ideal” — and would “restore and defend the Constitution.” Newsmax has since removed the column from its website.
Obama Risks a Domestic Military Intervention

By: John L. Perry

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.

America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:

# Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”

# Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.

# They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.

# They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.

# They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.

# They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.

# They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.

# They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.

So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?

Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?

Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?

What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?

Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?

Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”

In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

A Celestial Mystery

Scientists are baffled. Jupiter has lost one of its belts.
It's like an interplanetary strip tease.
Jupiter slides behind the Sun for three months and comes out with a new do.

Jupiter was pictured this month (left) looking unusually bare, compared to July 2009 (right). It has lost its dark red Southern Equatorial Belt although scientists are unclear as to why. The pictures have different tones because they were snapped a year apart.

The band was present in at the end of last year before Jupiter ducked behind the Sun on its orbit. However, when it emerged three months later the belt had disappeared.

Jupiter also lost its pants and reported its wallet stolen.

Neptune and Uranus are suspects.

Oil And Gold Do Mix

Right now gas is selling for $3.03/gal at the station down the street from me and at a lot of other places in the County. We shake our heads and complain about the price and blame the Arabs/politicians/oil companies and every other greedy so and so in the book.

Here is a different take on the matter from Real Clear Markets:

... it's worth mentioning that not long after he was inaugurated as our 40th president, Ronald Reagan predicted a fall in the price of a barrel of oil. What made Reagan so confident?

Aware of the historical relationship between gold and oil, Reagan deduced that oil was due for a correction based on a 20% drop in the price of an ounce of gold since his election. Sure enough, by December of 1981 the price of a barrel of oil was nearly 20% lower than it had been one year before.

Looked at over a longer timeframe, from 1970 to 1981 the price of gold rose 1,219 percent, versus a rise in the price of oil 1,291 percent. This wasn't coincidental. With gold and oil both priced in dollars, and with gold serving as the best proxy for the latter's value, a jump in the gold price neatly foretold the oil "shocks" of the 1970s that were merely dollar shocks.

Follow the money. As the dollar went south, the price of oil went north.
Kinda makes sense. no?

Right now gold trades in the $1176 range, and the price of oil is roughly $79 per barrel. That an ounce of gold buys 15 barrels of oil signals yet again that the real price of oil has hardly changed at all over the last 10 years of allegedly costly crude. Still, $79 oil ensures $3/gallon gasoline as far as the eye can see, and it's a fair bet that the price will stay there so long as gold continues to test all-time highs.

The good news, however, is that this can be fixed. As evidenced by the dollar's major decline versus gold this decade, the dollar is very cheap. The dollar's debased nature explains expensive spot oil prices, high prices at the pump, and most important of all, it helps explain a difficult job outlook. With so much soggy money flowing into commodities least vulnerable to dollar weakness, the entrepreneurial economy where most jobs are created is losing out.

I can remember when gold was $35 an ounce:
A first classs postage stamp sold for 3 cents
I could buy chuck steak for 59 cents a pound.
A gallon of milk was 69 cents.
In 1971 I worked at a gas station where the most common fuel purchase was for $3 - it bought you nine gallons of gas and free silverware.
I attended an expensive private university for $800 tuition/semester (1967).
You could buy a nice little ranch style house for $15,000.
For now though, it's a waste of time to bemoan what many deem "expensive oil." Time is wasted because there's no such thing as expensive oil, and there never has been. Instead, we have a problem of Americans supposing that the dollar is fixed in value, when in fact the dollar floats.
Oil hasn't become expensive this decade; rather the dollar has become very cheap. Strengthen the dollar, and worries over nosebleed gasoline prices will quickly become a thing of the past. Absent that, to hope that something will become inexpensive when the unit of account in which it's priced continues to fall is to indulge in fantasy.
So the question now is, why is the dollar fallen into such deep kimchi? I suspect the gubbmint. Mandated gimme programs for the "disadvantaged" have dollars being taken away (taxes) from people who are capable of managing their affairs and given to people who are not capable of holding onto a nickel. The housing bubble was caused in this very fashion. People with marginal or no jobs at all were given loans to purchase homes which they otherwise could not afford and either way were incapable of maintaining. Too many dollars chasing after a finite number of items will artificially raise the price of those items and simultaneously debase the value of your currency.

The Bible states that the love of money is the cause of much evil (1 Tim 6:10). The love of government does the same thing for the same reason.

They Have Lost Their Friggin' Minds

New York State is trying to surpass Californicator as the State With Its Head Buried Furthest Up Its Ass. This is unbelievable.

Proposal: All New Yorkers Become Organ Donors

Assemblyman Brodsky Introduces Bill That Would Give State The Right To Decide If You Are To Give The

Gift Of Life If Passed In Albany, Law Would Be First Of Its Kind In The United States

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Many patients in need of an organ transplant but stuck on a waiting list are taking a more direct approach, and turning to the Internet, to make personal appeals to the donors they desperately need.

Organ donation has become a vital way to save lives around the world, but a vast shortage of donors continues to mean people are losing their lives while on waiting lists. But there is a unique proposal that could change all that. New York State Assemblyman Richard Brodsky nearly lost his daughter, Willie, at 4 years old when she needed a kidney transplant, and again 10 years later when her second kidney failed. "We have 10,000 New Yorkers on the list today waiting for organs. We import half the organs we transplant. It is an unacceptable failed system," Brodsky said.

I got a recommendation for an organ donation for you pal. With a hemorrhoid the size of New Jersey, I need a new asshole and I want your brains to provide the foundation for a butt transplant. You sure as hell ain't using them.

Fail this, you jerk...

It ain't bad enough that the State swoops in like a flock of hungry ghouls when you croak so they can dig their claws into the inheritance you worked so hard to pass on to your kids; now they want to snatch your still wriggling corpse from the presence of sobbing loved ones and rip all kinds of warm shit out of it so they can stuff it inside their relatives- prolong their lives while they hide them on some no-show job on the State payroll.

Assholes! If they pass this I will demand to get a law passed that legalizes assisted suicide.
I wanna go with an assist from five pounds of dynamite.
Go ahead - scrape my warm shit off a bridge and stuff it in little Stephanie!

True Dat

This is an actual recording made in Australia.
It certainly should be used here.
Perhaps even a tattoo forcibly scrawled on the foreheads of many parents.

I do not credit this school district for the spelling and grammatical errors in the slide show.
Probably a well-intentioned American.

Time For A Break

The older I get, the less tolerance I have for fools and jackasses.

I have had it with the idiots running this great country of ours. What started out as an unparalleled experiment in human freedom 200 some odd years ago is turning into lazy-assed pinata built by pandering thieves who would trade our freedoms for their political security. Our leaders have for the most part abandoned us and pursue economic and social folly. A pox on them!

I get a dose of this everyday at work, from the newspapers and from the web. Everywhere I look I see the results of selfishness, ignorance, stupidity, lack of respect/lack of regard for God and our fellow man.

I can only take so much outrage before I gotta back off.

So I am taking leave for a while until I can regain some semblance of equanimity, some perspective of why God is allowing this to happen. I can't just turn into another perpetually pissed off curmudgeon who contributes nothing but spleen to the conversation.

I know where I will eventually end up. In Psalm 73 where I always find balance.

Stupid, Pandering Son Of A Bitch

There are no other words to describe democrat Congressjerk Phil Hare. In his own words he will do what he wants to do and piss on the United States Constitution.

Rep. Hare is using an example of someone having to take their child to the hospital and pay $15,000 and because they are uninsured, not able to pay the bill. The some man asks:

Man: "Where in the Constitution..."

Rep. Hare: "I don't worry about the Constitution on this to be honest..."

Man: "Jackpot, brother."

Rep. Hare: "I care more about the people that are dying every day that don't have health insurance."

Man: "You care more about that than the Constitution you swore to
uphold."

Rep. Hare: "I believe it says we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

We certainly do asshole, but I don't have to pay to make you or anyone else happy! And I hope you're happy in your new occupation, whatever that is, after November.

Interesting Times

There's said to be an old Chinese curse that goes something like this:

"May You Live In Interesting Times."

Things sure have been interesting for the past few weeks and our interest has certainly been peaked again by the recent events near Baengnyeong Island, controlled by South Korea. Reports are that a North Korean naval vessel torpedoed or otherwise sank a South Korean naval vessel with significant loss of life.

SEOUL, March 27 (Reuters) - A South Korean naval ship sank near the disputed maritime border with North Korea, killing some of the more than 100 crew on board, but officials played down suggestions that it may have been attacked by the North.

A defence ministry official later said that the unidentified object the vessel had fired at on Friday night near the western sea border that divides the two Koreas may well have been a flock of birds.

Initial fears that North Korea might be to blame caused ripples on Wall Street, where share prices dipped partly on geopolitical concerns, and the South Korean won dropped against the dollar.

"It is premature to discuss the cause of this sinking," presidential Blue House spokeswoman Kim Eun-hye told Reuters early on Saturday.

"It is not clear whether North Korea was involved."

[...]The defence ministry said 58 of the 104 on board had been rescued and Yonhap quoted navy officials as saying several had died.

"An unidentified reason caused a hole in the ship, which led to its sinking. Currently 58 have been rescued out of the total 104 on board. Rescue efforts are under way," the ministry said.

[...]The ship sank near the disputed Yellow Sea border off the west coast of the peninsula which was the scene of two deadly naval fights between the rival Koreas in the past decade.

Due to some unidentified reason, the ship sprung a big ass hole and rapidly sank, killing nearly half its crew. Did someone leave the ship's zipper open? We'd like to know.
In more unsettling developments, an excursion of Israeli tanks into Gaza was sparked by violent attacks initiated by Palestinians.

Israeli tanks advanced into the Gaza Strip on Friday after the worst clash with Palestinian fighters in 14 months killed two on each side, and Palestinian sources reported fresh casualties in the fighting.

They said five Israeli tanks and two armoured bulldozers advanced, firing, towards the town of Khan Younis in the centre of the narrow coastal enclave.

The Gaza-base militant group Popular Resistance Committees said one of its fighters was critically wounded by tank shelling east of the town. Palestinian sources reported Israeli helicopters and unmanned military drones in the skies.

And why are things getting so interesting?

My two cents worth: The United States is not only perceived as weak and ineffective under Obama, it is also seen as evil. The scum of the earth see Obama as a friend, an enabler. He shares the same goals as they do and through his inaction, tacitly approves of their goals.

North Korea is on the ropes economically. The maniac in charge needs to divert attention away from his failures. Obama is certainly not going to stop him.

The sinking comes as the impoverished North has become increasingly frustrated by its wealthy neighbour, which has given the cold-shoulder to recent attempts to reopen a lucrative tourist business on the northern side of the Cold War's last frontier.

It also coincides with mounting pressure on Pyongyang to end a more than one-year boycott of international talks to end its efforts to build a nuclear arsenal.

There has been widespread speculation that North Korea's iron ruler, Kim Jong-il, was about to visit China, his only significant ally and on which he has depended almost entirely for economic aid after a new conservative government in Seoul effectively ended years of free-flowing assistance.

So Kim Jong-il plays the slap-tickle-shoot the pickle routine and waits for his sugar daddy to hand him the keys to the T-Bird for the weekend and some walking money.

Within the past week, Gaza trailer park trash witnessed the big dis handed to the Israeli leadership by Biden (locally) and Obama (in Washington). The world knows that though the IDF is one of the world's most efficient and effective fighting forces; the big stick they wield is the support of the USA. Without that, the nation of Israel is vulnerable.

By the actions of this administration, an "Open Jooooo Season" sign has been posted on Israel's borders, courtesy of the US.

There have been several acknowledged reigns of relative peace imposed by strong nations: a Pax Romana for two hundred years (1st and 2nd centuries AD), the relatively short-lived Pax Britannica after the defeat of Napoleon, and a Pax Americana after World War II.

GOD has used the power of the United States to keep a lid on the world's tyrants for sixty years. Under a weak President, the pot is starting to boil again and the lid just may come off.

Interesting...

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

It Ain't Over

The events of the past few weeks have driven so many of us to distraction. I certainly am one of them. There is a tremendous post at Left Coast Rebel that reveals how Americans responded to a hated piece of national legislation.

[...]The year is 1854 and the issue dividing America was slavery. The abolition movement in America had been percolating since the country’s founding and pro-slavery politics had just proclaimed themselves the victors of the slavery battle with their legislative victory in the 1854 Nebraska-Kansas Act. With a single stroke of the presidential pen, Franklin Pierce had in effect declared slavery the law of the land. The bill opened up all US territories to accept backdoor slavery; the bill was to permanently weave slavery into the fabric of the electorate, never to be overturned.

Starting to sound familar? "Never to be overturned" is an echo of arrogance down through the ages. We heard it again just yesterday. It is a self-deluding utterance by men and woman who cannot conceive the consequences of their actions.

The Nebraska-Kansas Act was passed by a narrow margin in the house; 113 to 100. However, the implications were clear and the country would never be the same again. It all started with a dramatic ousting of the day’s blue dog democrats, aka the northern democrats:

Stephen Douglas was the Chairman of the Territories Committee who introduced the Nebraska-Kansas Act. He was also the Democratic candidate in the Presidential election of 1860. Remember who won that election?

No congressional member had so badly miscalculated the consequences of his actions as had Douglas. He believed that, besides getting a transcontinental railroad terminating in Chicago, he had removed the slavery issue from national life. By putting discussion of slavery in the hands of settlers and taking it away from members of Congress, Douglas believed, as did many others, that the national agitation over slavery's expansion would cease. This prediction was proven miserably wrong.

The Nebraska-Kansas Act was supposed to settle once and for all the issue of slavery, making it legal throughout the Union, or so Mr. Douglas and his supporters thought.

How's that hopey-change thing working out for ya Stephen?

The Nebraska-Kansas Act brought about the birth of the Republican Party from the ashes of the Whigs. The first Republican elected to the Presidency was Abrahma Lincoln.

The elections for the House of Representatives in 1854, 1856, 1858 and 1860 saw dramatic changes in the number of Democrats in Congress.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

A Long Time Coming

The American socialist/progressive/communist movement has been around for about 100 years. We are watching the the House vote on one of it's biggest attempts to impose government control on a huge portion of our economy. If this fails, they will not stop. If they succeed, they will grab for more.

Socialism is fueled by a world view that is diametrically opposed to Christocentric concepts regarding the human condition. Christianity holds that man was created in a perfect condition, sinned/fell from grace and because of sin requires a Redeemer to satisfy the righteous judgement of a Holy God. The problems of the human condition will disappear once sin is finally dealt with.

Socialism is an expression of humanism; humanism is a system of belief wherein Man does not need to be redeemed, he needs to be ruled. Once a perfect government is formed, then all the problems of the human condition will disappear.

Humanism is acknowledged by its adherents as a religion whose precepts are as follows :

FIRST: Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created.

This is the first element of the socialist/humanist agenda against Christianity. This is one of the reasons why the Book of Genesis has been the object of so many attacks , The Genesis account is an affront against humanism and must be discredited. As the scientific method was bastardized to support AGW, the same was done to discredit the Genesis account of creation. Carbon 14 dating that fell short of the millions and millions of years needed to legitimatize evolution were simply ignored as errors.

SECOND: Humanism believes that man is a part of nature and that he has emerged as a result of a continuous process.

This second element is the continuous process of evolution, the replacement for Genesis; the Book of Origins. Under Humanism, everything comes from nothing; a singularity perhaps but that's not important. What's important is that there is no God, there cannot be a God; there must not be a God.

THIRD: Holding an organic view of life, humanists find that the traditional dualism of mind and body must be rejected.

Not so obvious - this element rejects the concept that man has a soul and spirit. Therefore there is no afterlife. Therefore there is no Authority that controls events after death.

FOURTH: Humanism recognizes that man's religious culture and civilization, as clearly depicted by anthropology and history, are the product of a gradual development due to his interaction with his natural environment and with his social heritage. The individual born into a particular culture is largely molded by that culture.

Also not as obvious - Humanism rejects the notion that God has established standards of conduct. Our laws therefore are nothing but a "gradual development" of his social environment that have no basis in Divine Origin. Therefore these laws can gradually, or suddenly, change into .... whatever pleases Man. Rape isn't rape unless it's rape-rape. Murder is not murder if it is abortion.

FIFTH: Humanism asserts that the nature of the universe depicted by modern science makes unacceptable any supernatural or cosmic guarantees of human values. Obviously humanism does not deny the possibility of realities as yet undiscovered, but it does insist that the way to determine the existence and value of any and all realities is by means of intelligent inquiry and by the assessment of their relations to human needs. Religion must formulate its hopes and plans in the light of the scientific spirit and method.

There is no longer intrinsic value to anything including human life. All value to all things is ascribed by its assessment in relation to human needs. If we don't need you, then you have no value. Good-bye Grandma.

The free and unfettered expression of our religious beliefs must also be subjected to scientific examination. Instead of the Book of Revelations, we will be handed the Book of Scientific Negotiations. Except of course for AGW; that is a scientific belief based completely on faith and the potential profits to be made in carbon trading - thus AGW is sacrosanct.
SIXTH: We are convinced that the time has passed for theism, deism, modernism, and the several varieties of "new thought".

The Humanists have no decreed that the time has passed for tolerance. Only those belief systems that comply with the tenets of Humanism will be allowed. Perhaps this will also be the end of elevator music.

SEVENTH: Religion consists of those actions, purposes, and experiences which are humanly significant. Nothing human is alien to the religious. It includes labor, art, science, philosophy, love, friendship, recreation--all that is in its degree expressive of intelligently satisfying human living. The distinction between the sacred and the secular can no longer be maintained.

Element number seven is simple. All aspects of human life are now subject to the dictates of government.
EIGHTH: Religious Humanism considers the complete realization of human personality to be the end of man's life and seeks its development and fulfillment in the here and now. This is the explanation of the humanist's social passion.
Social Passion - the government will develop and fulfill you. After all, Comrade Obama knows best.
NINTH: In the place of the old attitudes involved in worship and prayer the humanist finds his religious emotions expressed in a heightened sense of personal life and in a cooperative effort to promote social well-being.
Hence the social gospel. There is no place for original sin, only the sin of non-cooperation with the effort to promote social well-being, whatever the hell that might be today.
TENTH: It follows that there will be no uniquely religious emotions and attitudes of the kind hitherto associated with belief in the supernatural.
From now on, the only tingle you will be allowed is the "Chris Matthews Inner Thigh Spasm."

ELEVENTH: Man will learn to face the crises of life in terms of his knowledge of their naturalness and probability. Reasonable and manly attitudes will be fostered by education and supported by custom. We assume that humanism will take the path of social and mental hygiene and discourage sentimental and unreal hopes and wishful thinking.

Say good bye to prayer. I don't think that you'll go to prison or be fined for praying. But you just might find yourself in a psycho ward where you will be "treated" for prayer because that's the mental hygiene way of doing things.

TWELFTH: Believing that religion must work increasingly for joy in living, religious humanists aim to foster the creative in man and to encourage achievements that add to the satisfactions of life.

Prepare yourselves for more crucifixes reposing in beakers of piss. Somehow, somewhere, some pervert is satisfied by this.

THIRTEENTH: Religious humanism maintains that all associations and institutions exist for the fulfillment of human life. The intelligent evaluation, transformation, control, and direction of such associations and institutions with a view to the enhancement of human life is the purpose and program of humanism. Certainly religious institutions, their ritualistic forms, ecclesiastical methods, and communal activities must be reconstituted as rapidly as experience allows, in order to function effectively in the modern world.

Look to see government agencies examining church services in order to bring them into conformance with with human fulfillment. If having sex with other men or a three year old boy brings you fulfillment, then the altar needs to be replaced with a mattress. After all, psychologists have already started to discount the effects of adults having sex with children.

FOURTEENTH: The humanists are firmly convinced that existing acquisitive and profit-motivated society has shown itself to be inadequate and that a radical change in methods, controls, and motives must be instituted. A socialized and cooperative economic order must be established to the end that the equitable distribution of the means of life be possible. The goal of humanism is a free and universal society in which people voluntarily and intelligently cooperate for the common good. Humanists demand a shared life in a shared world.

What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine. This has already been tried and it has been a resounding failure in every instance. But won't stop the progressives. Obamacare is just the latest episode, but Bush 41's RINO's also had a hand in this with the Medicare prescription give away. It is just a little disingenuous for the Republicans to climb on the Outrage Bandwagon now when they helped move the whole socialization of medical care in this Country.

FIFTEENTH: We assert that humanism will: (a) affirm life rather than deny it; (b) seek to elicit the possibilities of life, not flee from them; and (c) endeavor to establish the conditions of a satisfactory life for all, not merely for the few. By this positive morale and intention humanism will be guided, and from this perspective and alignment the techniques and efforts of humanism will flow.

What humanism will accomplish is the destruction of America as we know it. And the only way for humanism to succeed is to insinuate itself into the very fabric of government.

So pray for America. We spit and sputter in fury on conservative websites, but the final disposition of these events have been, and always will be, in God's hands.

Box Seats!

I scored two tickets to a performance of the Syracuse Symphony tonight. One of my supervisors couldn't make it and gave me his box seats. Box seats! Sweet. Me and the Mrs. had a freebie night out.

The first two pieces were so-so: Rounds for Strings by David Diamond (tedius), Percussion Concerto by Jennifer Higdon (sounded like really noisy menstrual cramps) and after the intermission, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 (awesome!).

For a city the size of Syracuse it is unusual to have a symphony orchestra as good as the one we have. We are really blessed.

R.I.P. Fess Parker

Actor Fess Parker is dead at the age of 85.
I loved this guy, all 6'6" of him, when I was a kid.

Don't tell me childhood heroes aren't important -
when I was six I thought Davy Crockett was still alive.
Some mean, older kid down the block told me Davy was coming to visit me.
I believed it ... and I still remember the disappointment 55 years later.

*sigh*
Davy Crockett is dead.

Al-BamaCare: From Rule Of Law To Imperial Fiat

Obama loves his czars. He loves them so much that he will soon emulate the czar's method of governance. The Czar's ruled by issuing orders called ukase.

From the Merriam-Webster on line dictionary:

Main Entry: ukase
Pronunciation: \yü-ˈkās, -ˈkāz, ˈyü-ˌ; ü-ˈkäz\
Function: noun
Etymology: French & Russian; French, from Russian ukaz, from ukazat' - to show, order; akin to Old Church Slavic u- away, Latin au-, Sanskrit ava- and to Old Church Slavic kazati - to show

Date: 1729
1 : a proclamation by a Russian emperor or government having the force
of law
2 : edict

This is what Pelosi, Reid, Barack Hussein Al-Bama and the entire traitorous pack of democrats have done to the legislative process. Detailed in Article I, the Framers of the Constitution told us how this process must be conducted.

By approving the Senate bill without actually voting on it, Constitutional safeguards put in place so long ago are willfully ignored.

Instead, Democrats will vote for a bill that states that the original Senate health care bill is “deemed passed.”

There is no actual vote on health care as stipulated in our Constitution.

Once this happens, we are no longer a Constitutional Republic.

Anything goes after this.

UPDATE:
This is interesting.

Advances In Science - The Pelosi Particle

Heaviest Element Yet Known to Science Discovered

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has now identified with certainty the heaviest element known to science.

The new element, Pelosium (PL), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.

A tiny amount of Pelosium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Pelosium has a normal half-life of 2 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a biennial reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

Pelosium mass will increase over time, since each reorganization will promote many morons to become isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.

This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Pelosium becomes Senatorium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Pelosium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

A big H/T to Charlie The ChiTown Cop.

Poor Man's Botox

NEWARK -- Six city women seeking backside enhancements have been hospitalized in the last two months after getting injected with mixtures of hardware-grade caulk, silicone and petroleum jelly, according to a report in the New York Post.

The New Jersey Department of Health reported the incidents, and hospital officials said the injections all happened in hotels around the Newark area, the paper reported. The women were all from the Dominican Republic. No one has been charged.

A spokesman for the New Jersey Department of Health also reports that the six woman now have backsides that are completely waterproofed and weather sealed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.

Water, Water Everywhere But You Can't Have A Drink

England's public health care at it's finest.
A man dies - DIES - from thirst.
Surrounded, surrounded mind you, by public service doctors and nurses.

A man of 22 died in agony of dehydration after three days in a leading teaching hospital.

Kane Gorny was so desperate for a drink that he rang police to beg for their help.

They arrived on the ward only to be told by doctors that everything was under control.

The next day his mother Rita Cronin found him delirious and he died within hours.

She said nurses had failed to give him vital drugs which controlled fluid levels in his body. 'He was totally dependent on the nurses to help him and they totally betrayed him.'

He was denied critical care in a teaching hospital - of course they must be teaching public health care - AKA ObamaCare. Private health care is taught in other countries like the US. At least for a little while longer.

There is another description of the care this young man received:

"A person acts with criminal negligence with respect to a result or to a circumstance described by a statute defining an offense when he fails to perceive a substantial and unjustifiable risk that such result will occur or that such circumstance exists. The risk must be of such nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that a reasonable person would observe in the situation."

Unfortunately for young Mr. Gorny, reasonable people were not involved with his care; incompetent, useless assholes were. Public health care at its finest.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating the death of Kane Gorny at St George's Hospital after this was referred to us by Westminster Coroner's Court.'

A spokesman for St George's Hospital said: 'We are extremely sorry about the death of Kane Gorny and understand the distress that this has caused to his family.

'A full investigation was carried out and new procedures introduced to ensure that
such a case cannot happen in future.

'We have written to the family to explain the actions that have been taken and to answer their concerns about Mr Gorny's care. The family has also been invited to meet with trust staff to discuss the case in detail.'

The tragedy emerged a week after a report into hundreds of deaths at Stafford Hospital revealed the appalling quality of care given by many of the nurses.

Why is gross incompetence called a tragedy? Call it what it is, unconscionable negligence.
New procedures? How about new indictments? What kind of hellish old procedures were in effect when this young man died? What a crock of shit!

And then the grieving family is treated to the usual remedy offered by a government who cares not a farthing about their citizens. Public service unions make it impossible to get rid of dead wood who in turn produce dead patients.

The same sense of entitlement that permeates the welfare system has penetrated the health care system. Nurses are more interested in their perks and petty grievances than in providing decent care. Staff are not paid for being competent, they are paid for showing up. And as the bodies are carted out of the wards, the only ones paying attention to the carnage are the relatives.

This week a task force called on nurses to sign a public pledge that they will treat everyone with compassion and dignity.

A task force. What a useless, typically liberal response to a criminal act. I'd prefer competence over compassion any day of the week. Public service doctors and nurses will stand around with fake pity and compassion in their eyes while you slowly die from neglect.
And keep this in mind, the UK's National Health Service is the largest employer in the UK. It is also one of the largest employers in the world. One out of every twenty-three people who work in the UK do so for the NHS.

A total of 1,282,900 people in England have jobs with the NHS: 2 per cent of the 30 million people of working age.

Only the Chinese Army and the Indian State Railways are believed to employ more people — with 2.3 million and 1.5 million staff respectively — but both workforces represent a far smaller proportion of the national populationsJustify Full.

All that incompetence stuffed in such an itty-bitty island.

John Reid, the Health Secretary, said he was delighted with the growth, but added that he was aware that more action was needed to tackle existing staff shortages.

And they're not done yet.
