As the 2008 Democratic National Convention draws nigh, please bear in mind that the men and woman of the Denver Police Department will be faced with a nearly impossible situation: how to guarantee the safety and Constitutional rights of thousands of ideologically motivated, insane, unwashed and unstable, screaming freaking idiots.
There is no doubt in my mind that the 1,500 members of the DPD will handle themselves professionally and with great restraint. But in confrontational situations such as what the idiots are planning, s**t happens, and it usually happens fast.
