Our kids grew up playing with Legos and my grandkids also love them. Besides, Legos are made in Denmark and Danes are cool. We got my grandson two sets, a general starter set and a small Stars Wars set.
I started looking for other Lego sets on the web and ran across this Star Destroyer:
MSRP is $299.99. It is recommended for ages 16 and older, has 3,104 pieces and measures 37" x 23". This is not what we bought him. 
This is a Battle Star. It costs the same as a Star Destroyer and has 3,417 pieces.
This is the Millennium Falcon, MSRP $499.99. It is almost three feet long and has5,195 pieces.
