The Invasion Has Been Canceled- Kinda
I will be the first one to think that perhaps we were reading too much into the intentions of the National Guard, but I still maintain that this is a very dangerous trend, a trend that should be resisted at every turn. It is just too similar to heavy handed tactics employed elsewhere in the world where people end up being slaughtered.DES MOINES, Iowa – Following publicized reports that the Army National Guard was planning a military training exercise on the streets of a rural Iowa town, the commanding officers have called off the mock "invasion."
The Guard had planned a four-day urban military operation in tiny Arcadia, Iowa, population 443, sending troops to take over the town and search door-to-door for a suspected weapons dealer.
The exercise was designed as a mock scenario to give soldiers the skills needed for deployment in an urban environment, and military officials stressed that only households that consented to be part of the drill would be searched.
"It will be important for us to gain the trust and confidence of the residents of Arcadia," [emphasis mine ~sig94] Sgt. Mike Kots, readiness NCO for Alpha Company, told Carroll's Daily Times Herald. "We will need to identify individuals that are willing to assist us in training by allowing us to search their homes and vehicles and to participate in role-playing.
"We really want to get as much information out there as possible," Kots continued, "because this operation could be pretty intrusive to the people of Arcadia."
Military spokesman Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood, however, told WND that the operation has now been "scaled back" and no longer involves an "invasion" of Arcadia.
I do not wish to see these measures meted out on our own shores. Let the Russians and the Chinese and the tinpot dictators around the world bring overwhelming military force to bear on their own peoples. But. Not. Here.
This is America damn you. We have enough government intrusion in our lives without this final insult.
And don't give me the argument that our people are more skillful, better trained, etc etc. I still remember Ruby Ridge and Waco. The men participating in those debacles were among the most highly skilled, highly trained specialists in the country. So why did so many innocents die...
There is a place for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. It isn't hiding in the bushes of my backyard taking pictures of my neighbor or sending armed patrols into the streets of my community not knowing what the hell is going on but looking for someone who may or may not have ever been there. We have police for that. And that is just what I did for years.
You want the National Guard to make a real difference? Do you want to use America's Finest in a manner that benefits every American citizen? Then guard our borders! Stop the violence that is spreading like a disease through the border states. Don't give me this shit about "weapons dealers" when Arizona and Texas are over run by hoodlum drug cartels!
I have news for you Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood ... the US State Department, Bureau of Consular Affairs, has issued a travel advisory for American citizens concerning any plans they have to visit our southern friends - Mexico:
Now there's a mission for you! Try to gain the "trust and confidence" of the citizens of El Paso or Tuscon or San Diego by protecting them against gangs of Mexican criminals crossing our borders!"Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades."
I Am Getting Very Uneasy
The Chinese vessel, the New Start, was suspected of smuggling and was pursued and fired upon when it refused to return to port. The Russians allegedly fired 500 rounds at the fleeing craft. Eight crewmen are feared missing at sea. The UK Telegraph reports:
The warship responsible was identified by Chinese media as a Russian Coast Guard cruiser. However, they do report that:The New Star was pursued out of port in Nakhodka in the Siberian Far East on Sunday by a Russian naval vessel which believed it was involved in smuggling. The pursuing ship fired at least 500 rounds, forcing it to turn back to port, but it sank on the way.
Eight crew were rescued but eight more, five Indonesians and three Chinese, were missing presumed drowned after their lifeboat overturned.
The incident will cast a shadow over generally improving relations between the two countries, who have a long history of mutual distrust following border skirmishes in the 1960s. The two signed a major oil-for-loans deal earlier this week.
The Chinese foreign ministry reported the incident on Wednesday, and on Thursday its spokeswoman said Beijing had called on Russia to investigate and "make full efforts to search for and rescue the missing sailors".
According to Russian and Chinese newspapers, the New Star had been held in Nakhodka on suspicion of smuggling, but had left port without notifying the authorities. A Russian naval cruiser set off after it.
Other Chinese media say this:[...] in a period of almost 24 hours, Russian navy officers and soldiers onboard the cruiser watched the sinking boat and did not make any response to the cries for help from the crewmen.
In the end, 16 sailors onboard New Star got on two lifeboats. The Russian sailors managed to save one boat carrying eight people, while the other was engulfed in the waves.
Three of the missing sailors are Chinese while the other five came from Indonesia, the report said.
The coastal coordination and assistance centre of Vladivostok announced Sunday that a Russian coast guard cruiser saved eight foreign sailors trapped by bad weather. It did not mention the alleged firing from the Russian navy.
However, a Russian media report said Wednesday the coast guard just found an empty boat in a three-day search. It also cited bad weather as the reason behind the accident.
According the International Maritime Organisation, the owner of New Star is a shipping company of Zhejiang, while the operator is a company based in Guangzhou.
A Chinese cargo ship is sinking after an accident at sea last Saturday near Russia's far-eastern port of Vladivostok. Three Chinese crew members were rescued and 7 others were missing, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry. [huanqiu.com]
Here is a video of the Russian cruiser warning the New Star to pull over to the curb and some footage (apparently) of a later rescue attempt. There is no footage of the cruiser actually firing upon the New Star.
So whether you believe column A (Russians) or Column B (Chinese), this is the final result. The New Star is sunk.
But why would the Russians go to such great lengths to antagonize China? Shoot at a civilian vessel five hundred times? Of course there were warning shots/flares but these are Russians we are talking about, not Brits who would probably try to ram the fleeing vessel into submission with a rubber dinghy.
Relations between the two powers have been slowly improving. Why destroy this progress over a shipload of Ramen noodles?
There is some noise about this. One blog, Dvorak ,states that this could have been a vessel that was smuggling a stolen nuclear device with the City of Seattle as the intended target. He cites Prison Planet as a source (IMHO not credible). The inference this guy makes is that BushCheney are somehow behind the scene pulling the strings on this.
From Prison Planet:
Most disturbing about these reports are them stating that the New Star is owned by the J Rui Lucky Shipping Co Ltd. which is a private limited company registered in Hong Kong and has long been known by Russian FSB Analysts to be an International shipping carrier of US Military and CIA cargo to support their Global War on Terror under contract with the American giant services company KBR whose former leader was US Vice President Cheney.
These reports further state that President Obama and the Globalist elite he represents are now ‘desperate’ in their attempts to stage a 9/11 type false flag operation in order to complete the subjugation of their citizens prior to the expected outbreak of massive social unrest they state will be occurring during the coming summer months as their economy continues to implode.
This sounds like a nutbag shouting in the wind and quite frankly I can't find a lot of support for this. It would be kind of funny if I didn't just write about exactly that kind of incident last night before going to bed. And if there is anything at all to the speculation that there was a nuke onboard, I no longer have any questions about why the Russians pulled the plug on the New Star.
Now I would imagine that since the ship was impounded in port earlier in the month that any contraband would have been removed by Russian inspectors. But how hard is it to hide a device the size of a suitcase in a ship that size? And why were the crew still on board the vessel or allowed to return to it? Was the New Star actually released and then ordered to return? Was the captain of the New Star actually complying with the orders of the Russian cruiser before being fired upon? There are a ton of questions left unanswered.
I am no conspiracy theorist by any means, but I am getting very uneasy.
1) The National Guard is preparing to commence operations against civilians.2) The government is considering a usage tax on our nation's highways - eventually this will be a GPS-based system that tracks how many miles you drive for tax purposes, and of course where you drive at any given time.
Be careful of this one ... it will be heralded as a law enforcement measure to crack down on auto theft.
3) Already the federal government has created a new bureaucracy that has the power to make life and death decisions for all Americans. The health care coordination measures passed in the HR1 stimulus bill will allow bureaucrats to determine what medicines and medical procedures doctors may use in providing your health care.
4) Under United States Code Title 50 - War and National Defense - Chapter 34 - National Emergencies - there are a series of Executive Laws that allow the federal government to use federal agencies to respond to emergencies; no one ever voted on them. These laws can be revoked or amended at any time by order of the President as seen in Section 10 of Executive Law 12938.
We have yet to see what the current occupant of the White House will do with this authority.Sec. 10. Revocation of Executive Orders Nos. 12735 and 12930. Executive Order No. 12735 of November 16, 1990, and Executive Order No. 12930 of September 29, 1994, are hereby revoked.
For a list of Executive Orders dealing with emergency preparedness, go here. There are 17 in all; the first 11 Executive Orders were put into place by President Kennedy. The last three were written by President Clinton. There are many Executive Orders that were abolished by newer ones.
5) I would also look for the government to start making moves against the use of cash. With all the fiscal regulations pouring out of Congress that none of our Representatives or Senators read, eventaully I believe that there will be riders attached to other legislation making it more and more difficult to use cash - in effect moving us to an entirely electronic transaction-based economy. Once that happens, ordinary taxpayers like you and I will not be able to hide from the government.
This will be heralded as a means to control our economy. This one is actually laughable. The biggest thefts and frauds in history are all accomplished electronically. Over a half trillion dollars disappeared in two hours last September and they're still not sure exactly where it all went.
This is Mark of the Beast stuff.
Like I said, I am getting very uneasy.
You have to trust someone.

What Are They Training For?
I was somewhat conflicted about this announcement. At first it sounded ominous, posse comitatus and all that. But why in a town that may not even have a traffic light? But a town this size is perfect if you want to keep a low profile and not alarm many people when you train troops in the touchy art of civilian firearms confiscation. The Carroll National Guard unit will train on urban military operations by holding a four-day exercise at Arcadia.
The purpose of the April 2-5 drill will be to gather intelligence, then search for and apprehend a suspected weapons dealer, according to Sgt. Mike Kots, readiness NCO for Alpha Company.Citizens, law enforcement, media and other supporters will participate.
Troops will spend Thursday, April 2, staging at a forward operations base at Carroll. The next day company leaders will conduct reconnaissance and begin patrolling the streets of Arcadia to identify possible locations of the weapons dealer.
The primary phase will be done Saturday, April 4, when convoys will be deployed from Carroll to Arcadia. Pictures of the arms dealer will be shown in Arcadia, and soldiers will go door to door asking if residents have seen the suspect.
Soldiers will knock only at households that have agreed to participate in the drill, Kots noted.
I have worked with National Guard troops, coordinating patrols during a natural disaster. We also use National Guard specialists to participate in local drug intervention efforts (commos mostly for multi-jurisdictional short term details) but nothing ever like this Arcadia exercise.
There is intelligence and, then again, there is intelligence. How is this information vetted? Road blocks? In-depth searches of homes and vehicles? What happens when the owner of the vehicle or residence refuses to grant permission for a consensual search? It sounds like they will be evacuating entire areas in order to isolate specific undesirables - weapons dealers."Once credible intelligence has been gathered," said Kots, "portions of the town will be road-blocked and more in-depth searches of homes and vehicles will be conducted in accordance with the residents' wishes."
Having troops ask if they can search you vehicle for "public safety" is a very intimidating measure. If you refuse permission are you now a suspect because you do not want to participate in a public safety initiative?
This is absolute crap. It is nothing more than a consent search "sweep" looking for firearms, a federal fishing expedition"One of the techniques we use in today's political environment is cordon and knock," Kots explained. "We ask for the head of the household, get permission to search, then have them open doors and cupboards. The homeowner maintains control. We peer over their shoulder, and the soldier uses the homeowner's body language and position to protect him."
There are several things, harbingers, to look for:
1) Changes to federal criminal code changing the definition of a "weapons dealer." This will involve much broader guidelines where the definition may fit just about any gun owner. Two or more guns may qualify you for this definition, the supposition being that any one with more than one weapon can be "predisposed" to selling one of them. Anyone selling any kind of firearm without a FFL permit will be an unauthorized (illegal) weapons dealer.
2) It looks like posse comitatus may be going out the window; look for changes in existing State laws or authorizations regarding the National Guard. These troops are normally under the control of the Governor.
3) Unless the troops are "federalized" they will remain under command of the Governor. There must be laws or statutes regulating the circumstances under which this transfer can occur. Look for changes in federal regulations controlling such authorizations.
Surveillance, searching and apprehension of civilians by the National Guard? This is very ominous. Stability? Support? This would indicate large scale unrest or other societal disorder. Perhaps the Obama administration is really unnerved by the recent demonstration at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange by Rick Santelli.A meeting to give residents more information and accept volunteers will be held 7 p.m. Monday, March 2, in the Arcadia American Legion hall.
Kots said the exercise will replace Alpha Company's weekend drill for April."We have a lot of extended drills this coming year," he added.
In addition to surveillance, searching and apprehension, the exercise will also give the troops valuable experience in stability, support, patrol, traffic control, vehicle searches and other skills needed for deployment in an urban environment
One other aspect of this training may be to learn how to develop an informant base within the civilian population. This is how they will develop their "intelligence," via your neighbors ratting you out. The troops may be asking for information regarding anyone who has any kind of firearm or who is seen performing other "proscribed" activities.
"... and other skills needed for deployment in an urban environment."Why is this experience needed in American urban environments? This must be in response to large scale civil unrest or new federal law enforcement initiatives that will require the deployment of troops to our cities. Or large scale unrest following new laws that infuriate an entire segment of our population.
It does not bode well, for this deployment will not be in response to traditional law enforcement needs but to something else.
"The unit will use a Blackhawk helicopter for overhead command and control, and to simulate medevacs."
Airborne C&C may be a part of all NG operations, but in a civilian application is it really needed unless there are pursuits or if monitoring large formations of .... what? Rioters? Prisoners? And it appears that they anticipate injuries if the medevac simulation is any indication; fairly large scale operations with anticipated hostilities.
Is the National Guard preparing to initiate operations against American gun owners?
And another troubling account is reflected in the words of the Obama's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel: “Never Allow a Crisis to Go to Waste.”
If you cannot find a crisis, then fabricate one.
In response to the current fiscal nightmare, disastrous economic legislation has already been railroaded through Congress and the Democrats never even read the bill before voting it into law. If a similar nationwide crisis in social order hits our nation, they most likely will follow suit and do the same thing.
The socialists will not stop until they make slaves of us all. That's just how they roll.
Barak Chavez Obama
Here the article details the how and why and the eagerly awaited end run by Obama and his cohorts on the Constitution.Because the mainstream press refuses to see anything wrong in the Obama administration, even the most outrageous actions are given astonishingly gentle treatment – if they get any treatment at all.
So of course we hear almost nothing about the coup d'etat that is under way in the White House.People have been talking about a "historic realignment," but of course that is nonsense. Most Americans report mostly conservative viewpoints on most issues. That hasn't changed.
What will change, apparently, is how many voters the Obama administration can produce out of thin air to swing the next election. And as many elections as possible after that.
How is Obama going to accomplish this? He has just moved the constitutionally-required census from the Commerce Department to the White House – specifically putting it under the thumb of his political strategist, Rahm Emanuel.
Look at the statistical snow job that Al Gore and his merry band of grant-funded scientists have pulled off with their Global Warming scam. Scamming census data will be no problem at all. And the media will not blink while this is happening.[...]This will be done by the use of statistical manipulation based on highly doubtful premises.
This is functionally identical to the practice of the old Democratic Party machine in Illinois, where dead Democratic voters in Chicago turned out in large enough numbers to counterbalance all the Republican votes downstate.
Now it won'tmatter how many voters there are. If the census has been jimmied to give Democratic-leaning states more congressional seats and more electoral votes than the actual count of real people would justify, the Democrats will have their "historic realignment" without having to actually persuade anybody new to vote for their candidates.
And Obama has set himself up to rig all future American elections, not through any democratic process, but by fiat.
Just like a dictator.

Big Sister
Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call.
The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen , a 3-year old girl to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.
Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked.
Heidi pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born.
The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry.
The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed.
Kathleen quickly responded, 'He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place......smack his ass again!'
There's A Storm Abrewing
It's CNBC but take a look anyway. The traders are angry that Obama is rewarding bad behavior by subsidizing losers' mortgages; lowering the mortgage rate isn't going to help either- 40% of these bad mortgages can't be saved if the rate drops to -2%, these people should never had mortgages in the first place.
Seven-hundred eighty-seven billion dollars apparently doesn't go as far as it used to. Even before the ink was dry on the stimulus bill, the president and his deputies were hinting it may not work as promised.
[...]Now with the $787 billion on the books — an amount greater than the entire federal budget in 1982 — the administration is suddenly in full expectation-lowering mode, throwing out strong hints that it may have to go back for second helpings in a matter of months.
"Signing Stimulus, Obama Doesn't Rule Out More," is how the New York Times put it. And, indeed, Obama sounded almost dour about the bill he had so aggressively pushed to get passed.
I guess a trillion dollars just don't go as far as it used to. And maybe with the new Tea Party they can remember to toss that useless, lying asswipe Roland Burris into the Lake also. From the Chicago Tribune:
Sen. Roland "Tombstone" Burris (D-Lying Weasel) insisted he was the Real Roland Burris, which must mean that some sneaky impostor is out there, doing evil deeds in our senator's name.
Yet Real Roland or Fake Roland, nobody believed him, because he's such a weasel who didn't tell the truth to a state impeachment committee about discussing fundraising for the former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, as part of a deal to have Blago appoint Burris to fill the Senate seat of President Barack Obama.
If he had told the truth, he wouldn't be senator today, and as he chattered on about how Democratic ward bosses really love him, a Democrat in the crowd whispered to me.
"What's Barack saying? Where's House Speaker Michael J. Madigan? Their silence is deafening," the guy said. "What are they saying?"
Nothing.
CHICAGO - A Chicago minister tells The Associated Press he and other black pastors who previously supported Sen. Roland Burris now plan to ask him to resign.
The minister spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because a meeting with Burris hadn't yet been scheduled. He says the senator can no longer serve effectively.
It's exactly like putting money into the crapper, Daudfar. And the stock market agrees witht he high school kids and not the so called economic hot shots in Washington. Today the Dow closed at a six year low and just about every other indicator is also in the crapper like Daudfar's funnel."Overall I think it's a good idea, but he's not addressing the issues of the economic crisis," said Daudfar, a John McCain supporter who added he leans more toward being a moderate conservative. "The spending bill he just passed is just progressing the Democratic agenda rather than addressing the economic issues in the country."
Daudfar thinks Obama's plan is backward and deals with the "less important stuff" first. "Bailing out businesses" and "providing better regulatory systems for giving out money to businesses" should have been first, he said.
"If businesses can't afford to hire people, then people won't be able to work and pay off their mortgages," he said. "It's kind of like putting money into a funnel."
Yeeeehaw, ride the lightning.NEW YORK (Reuters) – The Dow industrials closed at a more than six-year low on Thursday as investor fears that banks could be nationalized drove their stocks to a 17-year low and a rise in the number people receiving jobless benefits to a record high stoked worries about the deepening recession.
After several near misses this week, blue chips blew through the November 20 bear market closing low in late trade, erasing a year-end rally built on hopes a new president would successfully tackle the deepening recession.
The Nasdaq fared the worst of the three major indexes after a disappointing outlook from Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N) sent its stock down almost 8 percent and dragged down other technology shares, Hewlett-Packard, the world's largest PC maker, which warned its expects weak market conditions to persist, was also the Dow's biggest negative weight.

Non-Lethal Force Technology
Ms. Morris gave the defendant a "tactical wedgie".SALT LAKE CITY - It took a wedgie and a headlock to pin down a man suspected of breaking into a car in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Yvonne Morris, a technician at the Brickyard Animal Hospital, says she chased a man who broke into a co-worker's car, but he kept squirming away from her. Morris eventually grabbed the man's boxer shorts and pulled.
Salt Lake City police say she then she put a headlock on the man until help could arrive.
It works in this fashion: the constriction of the defendant's testicular airspace through a swiftly diminishing fabric construct reduced his flight profile. Ergo, his inability to conduct rapid femural transfer processes failed to deliver the desired locomotive product. Stymied by his apparent lack of mobility, the defendant's decision making matrix collapsed, rendering him compliant to Ms. Morris' forcible custody initiative.
The development of non-lethal force technology continues apace. The US Army is working on a mobile 23,000 wedgie delivery system. It will reduce two entire infantry divisions into a squirming, wriggling uncomfortable mass of demoralized humanity.

What Are The Odds?
Really, what are the odds of this happening? The French submarine Le Triomphant remained unaware that it had rammed and damaged HMS Vanguard until days later, when it was informed by the Royal Navy.
Both vessels were carrying nuclear ballistic warheads while on secret patrols when they crashed this month.
Official inquiries have started in Britain and France, amid concerns regarding the sharing of military information between the allied navies.
You all know that if the French had really, really tried to find another sub in the midst of a 106 million square mile bath tub, sneak up behind it and ram the sonbitch in the ass ... they would fail miserably. They would end up like the Flying Dutchman, wandering around the ocean 65 feet below the surface, cussing up a storm, eating cheese and creating the foulest air quality problem within any double hulled vessel in Creation.
Indeed, this borders on the supernatural.
Come n' listen to my story 'bout the mighty Fwench
Got themselves a hankering that they could not quench.
They were cruising 'neath the Ocean just as blind as a bat,
Using Fwench technology to tell 'em where they're at...
With their sonar that is;
Couldn't hear the Brits otherwise....
Well the next thing ya know the Fwench are breakin' out in prayer
'Cause they slammed their sub up a nuclear derriere.
They really can't be driving holding the wheel betwixt their knees
While using their hands to scarf up brie' cheese.
Ya'll back now, ya hear?

Why Don't We Know More About This?!
Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., mentioned this in a C-SPAN interview and it boggles the mind that the media have completely ignored it. Townhall os one of the few sites to carry this:
This is the financial equivvalent of another World Trade Center attack. Who did this? Where did the money go? If this was perpetrated through electronic transactions there must be audit trails. Why haven't our politicians, hell, our law enforcement officials made any announcements regarding those who are responsible? This is freaking enormous! If there are persons/financial institutions acting in concert, this is probably the largest financial fraud in the history of the world. You couldn't steal this with a gun. Hell, you couldn't steal this much with an army.To set the C-SPAN scene, Kanjorski is harkening back to the middle of last September, when, as it happens, John McCain was enjoying his brief lead in the presidential polls and the economy as we knew it was imploding. Here's what Kanjorski said:
"I was there when the Secretary (of the Treasury Hank Paulson) and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve (Ben Bernanke) came those days and talked to members of Congress about what was going on. It was about Sept. 15. Here's the facts, we don't even talk about these things.
"On Thursday at about 11 o'clock in the morning, the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous drawdown of money market accounts in the United States to the tune of $550 billion, as being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two.
"The Treasury opened up its window to help. It pumped $105 billion into the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn't be further panic out there, and that's what actually happened."
"If they had not done that, their estimation was that by 2 o'clock that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the United States, would have collapsed the entire economy system of the United States and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.
[...]"Now we talked at that time about what would happen if that happened. It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it. And that's why when they made the point we've got to do things quickly, we did."
I have been looking for more information on this event and have found virtually nothing. I can only imagine that the current administration's media lapdogs have been told to leave this story alone. For this there is only one reason, they are digging a hole for a scapegoat in order to protect their asses. One thing we do know is that former President Bush made extremely cryptic public statements regarding the stability of our markets at this time in question last September, statements noted by Accuracy in Media's Cliff Kincaid. These began with a Sept. 18 Bush announcement that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was stepping up its enforcement action "against illegal market manipulation." As Kincaid wondered, manipulation "by whom or what?
The resident didn't say." On Sept. 19, President Bush further announced that the SEC had "launched rigorous enforcement actions to detect fraud and manipulation in the market. Anyone engaging in illegal financial transactions will be caught and
persecuted (sic -- good ol' W.)." Again, what was Bush talking about? On that same day, Kincaid reports, "the SEC announced a `sweeping expansion of its ongoing investigation into possible market manipulation in the securities of certain financial institutions.'" Why? What was going on? If ever there was a vital, compelling reason for congressional hearings, Kanjorski's "electronic run on the banks" story is it.
Something stinks in Denmark and it ain't the cheese. This is the video where Kanjorski references the run on the bank.

Darby O'Gill and the SUV
A 2002 Ford Explorer, operated by 44 year old Michael Banaczyk of 2341 E. Rainer Ave., struck the leprechaun when the driver failed to stop in time. Wet road conditions are listed as attributing factors to this fatal accident.
The leprechaun, tentatively identified as Wee Johnny "Lucky Charms™" McFadden, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics of the St. Albans Volunteer Emergency Service.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
While no charges have been lodged at this time, a toxicology test has been scheduled for the leprechaun to determine if he was legally intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Eye witnesses at the scene report a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" coming from the decedent's remains. They also report that the leprechaun was partially nude while "prancing around like a madman" in the middle of the road and rubbing himself with brightly colored coins just before the accident. The coins, a small iron pot and several boxes of a sugary breakfast ceral were recovered by police.

What The Hell??
I mean I've really, really had it.
Don't any of these assholes going up for big time gubmint jobs ever pay their f**king taxes??!!?? What is this?? Is it written in the job specifications for a Cabinet position that you or your spouse have to be a fraud in order to qualify in this administration? Between Clinton and Geithner and Solis and Daschle and Killefer we got ourselves enough fraud to keep a room full of auditors busy for a year. And don't even mention the conflicts of interest that would choke a maggot.
Why am I pissed? I should be enjoying this show of corruption and incompetence.
Case in point.
I had a consulting business back in 2004 that I started in order to take care of a project for the County. I had myself and one part timer on the payroll. I used Galisano's PayChex payroll service to take care of the payroll for me. They did all the deductions and paid all the proper agencies the blood money the State demands in order for anyone to do business in NYS.
Now Paychex was fine, their people were nice, very responsive and I had no problems with them.
The cost of this service was reasonable and I feel they did a good job.
But Paychex didn't pay out enough in taxes. No big deal, some taxes are estimates anyway until the final bill comes in.
But I was short.
I owed NYS a grand total of $1.57 in state unemployment insurance back taxes for 2005.
That's one dollar and fifty-seven cents.
I got the notice in 2006 and forgot about it ... my bad. Really, $1.57? Geesh, can I send you a coupla nice Boston Creme donuts and a kiglie?
Those assholes in Binghamton (where the state enforcement office is located) fined me $55 for that. I was fined thirty-five times the amount of the shortage. That's why I call them assholes.
And now we get a parade of these Democrats, these sons of bitches, parking their limos on Constitution Avenue and hiking their overdrawn and already overpaid asses up before the Senate in order to wrangle a bigger strangle hold on the public teat and at the same time owing everybody in the frigging world money and it's no big deal.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars is nothing to these slobs. They got cooks and caretakers and limos and nursemaids and cabana boys and doily wipers and nannies and every other kind of rented boob in Creation to wipe their asses, cook their meals, shine their shoes, polish their knobs and chase the f**king gophers out of the garden so their damn oganic cucumbers can ripen unmolested and yet they can't pay the freaking taxes on them!
And that grinning jug-eared asshole, that slimy hopey change artist has got these damned thieves circling the Senate in a holding pattern just like a thirsty fleet of 747's over O'Hare; all of them wanting to make a landing so they can taxi over to the taxpayers' fuel farm and gorge themselves at someone else's expense.
Time for another Revolution!
I am so disgusted.

Global Warming In Action
Temperatures got above 40 degrees for a total of seven hours, for one day - 23 JAN 09. I was tempted to run around nekked.
Except for three days, it snowed everyday.
January's snowfall was just barely under 50 inches.
So far this season we've had 123.8 inches.
And there's two more months of winter.
I have shoveled or otherwise removed over ten feet of the white crap from my driveway so far.
Guess how much gas I have put into my 9HP snowblower.
Chess Moves
Suspected militants blew up a bridge in northwestern Pakistan's Khyber Pass on Tuesday, cutting the main route for supplies bound for Western forces in Afghanistan, Pakistani government officials said.
Separately, a military spokesman said security forces killed at least 35 Taliban insurgents and wounded many more in an attack on Monday night in the Swat Valley, northeast of the Kyber Pass.
Militants in northwestern Pakistan stepped up attacks on the road through the Khyber Pass, a crucial route into land-locked Afghanistan, last year in an attempt to deprive international forces fighting the Taliban of supplies trucked in from Pakistan.
[...] Guards are usually posted on heights above bridges but it was not clear why they had been unable to stop the attack.
MOSCOW — In a setback to the escalating U.S. military efforts in Afghanistan, the president of Kyrgyzstan said Tuesday that his government will shut down the American air base in his country.
U.S. officials say that the Manas Air Base is vital to plans to send an additional 30,000 American troops to Afghanistan, a linchpin of President Barack Obama's efforts to pacify the country.
That's about one quarter of one percent of the $890 billion stimulus package being argued in the Senate right now. Putin got himself a bargain basement price for possibly derailing American military plans in Central Asia.
Okay Hopey, your move.

When In Maine...
We saw this years ago during a training session. We were rolling on the floor when this character blew up again and again. And the cop just as nice as you could be.
