What A Difference A President Makes

God Bless our Armed Forces.

Even though the men and women who serve our nation so bravely are forced betimes to sip from the Cup of Political Correctness, no one can force them to drink deeply - or to swallow. Perhaps this is none so true as in the USMC.

No one can order a heart-felt, shake the walls, pound the table, rock star type welcome.

So, the question here is: Which greeting is for Elvis as he enters the auditorium and which greeting is for Tiny Tim?

The following is a comparison of a Marine Corps welcome for two different Commanders in Chief.

The difference is astounding!

Thanks Charley.

For those of you too young to remember, this is Tiny Tim.

If you're curious, that is the delightful Goldie Hawn escorting Tiny Tim from the stage. It is rumored that she scrubbed herself bloody after that take.

As a Marine, I was told to salute the rank not the person.

But as American, I would cheer the man who had my best interests at heart.

All those Marines understand this also, by the looks of things.

Semper Fi, Devil dogs.

Down with the King.

Toaster - Amen. They stood when Teh One walked in. They sat when he gave his permission. They applauded a little at the end of his little speech and stood when he left.

They showed the absolute minimum of respect but show it they did.

God bless the USMC.

What visual and vocal difference.

LOL; only 4 idiots clapped when the Obama walked in.

It speaks volumes.

I admire them for what they did.

Admiral - It sounded more like a solemn religious observance. Or an execution.

The Marines Rock! It sure is great to see them with a cic that they like.

Opus - they sure know how to throw a party for someone they like!

Love that video! How can our servicemen-and-women have any respect for a president who once accused them of air-raiding villages and killing civilians in Iraq?

OTC - exactamundo. In the service, you have to give respect at face value, but you only give love to those that deserve it.
